Land Drilling Rig

For this project the most advanced graphic engines technologies have been applied to create an interactive 3D industrial reconstruction, in this case an Oil&Gas land drilling rig site.

An experienced consultant in the Oil&Gas (Egisto Mannini - Linked IN) industry worked as advisor for the technical side.

The model can be explored freely from all points of view. Particular care has been committed to reproduce the effects of physical realism such as: wind, dust, exhausts and heat emissions, light`s reflection.

Depending on requirements, it is possible to program the model with absolute realism to place it on any location, varying time, weather conditions, seasons.

Clicking over different rig parts and avatars, a user interface will appear, textual in this case, but customizable to include images, text, video, audio or links to external documents.

This type of project enables the exploration and a detailed visualization of any technical element, which could be enhanced with a virtual reality and motion detection interface.

The level of realism obtainable is such that potential applications in industrial projects are many, just to cite the key ones:
   Site familiarization for inexperienced personnel
  Personnel training by programming of interactive part to simulate:
    - Machinery and tools use
    - HSE procedures
    - Emergency Procedures
   Maintenance assistance
   Educational for public opinion
   Aid to environmental impact assessments
   Presentations for investors and shareholder
